A shopping center will be built in the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone

The shopping center will be built in the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone in 2025. The decree on its creation was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the state news agency TDH reports.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution allowing the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations to conclude a contract for the design and construction of a shopping center in the Turkmen-Uzbek border zone of the Dashoguz velayat.

According to the state news agency "Turkmenistan Today", construction will begin in July 2023 in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement signed on October 5, 2021 on the creation and regulation of the activities of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone - a shopping center

The shopping center should be commissioned with full readiness for operation in July 2025.

The laying ceremony of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone "Dashoguz-Khorezm" was held in Ashgabat with the participation of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev in October 2022.

A border trade zone is being created on the Turkmen-Uzbek border in the adjacent territories of the Dashoguz region of Turkmenistan and the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. It is planned that cross-border trade between the regions will be established taking into account the modern international and regional practice of wholesale and retail trade. An agreement to open the Dashoguz-Khorezm border trade zone was reached in October 2021 during the visit of then President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan.
