A Robot Made from Scrap: A Craftsman from Kastamonu Amazes the Public

A skilled craftsman from Kastamonu, Turkey, Osman Demircioglu, has attracted widespread attention with his unusual invention. Using discarded and recyclable materials, he built a human-carrying robot named “Ataman 666.” The project took four years to complete and cost only 15,000–20,000 Turkish lira.

The most remarkable aspect of the robot is that nearly all of its parts were assembled from scrap metal, old mechanical components, and discarded electronic materials. Despite this, “Ataman 666” stands out with its impressive appearance and mobility. A person can enter and operate the robot, making it a popular attraction on the streets and at exhibitions.

Through his invention, Osman Demircioglu has delivered an important message to young people. He believes that technology should not be limited to the virtual world alone.

“Let’s step out of the virtual world and engage with real life,” the inventor said.
