From September 20, work on providing iodine under the "Bright Nation" program began in Uzbekistan, Gazeta.uz reported. Iodine preparations are provided free of charge to all children between the ages of 3 and 15 through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education. Every Wednesday is marked as iodine day, and on this day, preventive doses of iodine tablets are distributed free of charge in all schools and kindergartens of the country. Pregnant and lactating women, as well as children who do not attend pre-school educational institutions, receive iodine preparations free of charge through family doctors within the framework of the Yorkin Millat iodine supply program. The drug and dosage were selected by the republican specialized endocrinology scientific-practical medical center of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. Private kindergartens and schools should get the necessary amount of medicine by contacting the clinics in their location. In order to effectively implement the program, monitoring is carried out through regular online surveys of the parents and administration of the institutions where the medicine is distributed.
