"A politician with a long vision": Aliyev on Mirziyoyev

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in his speech at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia on November 16, recognized Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev as a wise and far-sighted leader.

Aliyev said that Mirziyoyev is not only a wise statesman, but also a person who has made a great contribution to the development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations. “He is respected and loved in Azerbaijan for his practical work and sincere attitude,” he said.

The Azerbaijani leader noted that cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan is further strengthened due to Mirziyoyev’s strategic vision. It was also noted that Uzbekistan is confidently moving along the path of development, large-scale reforms and major projects have made it one of the leading countries in the region.

Ilham Aliyev participated in the Consultative Meeting as an honorary guest for the third time in a row. At this year's summit, it was decided to admit Azerbaijan as a full member of this format, and this was supported by all heads of state.
