A Libyan man, Amer al-Mahdi Mansur al-Gaddafi, who was on his way to perform Hajj, was stopped at the airport in Sebha because his last name was the same as that of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi. After it was determined that he had no connection to the former dictator, he was released, but he did not make it on the flight. After taking off, the plane returned due to a technical malfunction. The young man tried to get out again, but the captain did not allow him. When the plane returned for the second time due to a malfunction, the captain said: “I will not fly without him this time.” The young man boarded and finally left for Hajj.
This amazing and shocking incident took place in May of this year and was covered by many foreign media outlets.
