Attempts to smuggle foreign currency across the customs border in Tashkent region have been put to an end. This was reported by the press service of the regional Customs Department.

It is noted that the hand luggage of a citizen who entered the "Gishtkoprik" border customs post on foot to cross from Uzbekistan to a neighboring country was inspected by customs.

As a result, it was found that 5,135,000 Russian rubles and 4,000 US dollars in cash were found in his hand bag, which were not listed in the passenger customs declaration and were not disclosed in the oral inquiry.

Currently, the customs authorities are investigating the above situation.

In June of this year, those who tried to sell the ruby for 300 thousand dollars were caught in a quick operation conducted by the employees of the Tashkent City Department of the DKK in cooperation with the Department of Combating Economic Crimes.
In November 2022, people who wanted to sell pure gold of 999.9 proof were caught in Pakhtachi district of Samarkand region.
Also, a citizen was caught illegally transporting gold bars in Bulung'ur district.
