A New Dangerous Sport Is Gaining Popularity in Australia

In Australia, an unusual and controversial sport called the Run Nation Championship (RNC) is quickly becoming popular. In the competition, participants run at full speed straight at each other without any protective gear and collide. The goal is to knock the opponent down or knock them out. It resembles ram fighting — only here, people “charge” into each other.

The fights first became known through social media videos, and since 2025 they have turned into spectator tournaments. One of the latest events was held in Sydney.

Doctors and sports experts warn that the risk of concussion, neck, and spinal injuries is extremely high and are calling for the sport to be banned.
