On July 28, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the copies of credentials from the newly appointed Malaysian Ambassador Ilham Tua bin Illias. The head of the MFA announced this through his Telegram channel. "We are pleased to receive copies of letters of credence from Mr. Ilham Tua bin Illyas, who was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan. Together with the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, we support Mr. Ambassador in the implementation of his diplomatic mission aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan-Malaysia relations," writes Bakhtiyor Saidov. We remind you that in 2018, he was appointed as the extraordinary and autonomous ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan. Until then, the diplomatic mission of Malaysia in the country was headed by Dato Noraini bint Abd Hamid. Before that, it was reported that Timothy Smart was appointed as the new ambassador of Great Britain to Uzbekistan, and the president of Turkmenistan dismissed the ambassador to Uzbekistan.
