A meeting is being held under the leadership of the President

In the presence of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting was started to discuss the main issues that need to be resolved in the railway sector and determine the measures to solve them.

In the last seven years, the number of industrial enterprises in our country has increased by 2.7 times to 110 thousand, the production of more than 2 thousand types of new products has been launched, and the size of the industry has increased by 1.5 times.

The volume of exports increased 1.6 times and reached 19 billion dollars last year. Due to this, the cargo turnover in our country increased by 30%. In particular, freight transportation to Tashkent city, Tashkent region, Samarkand and valley regions increased by 1.5 times.

At the same time, due to the situation in the international arena, the costs of transport and logistics have increased several times.

For countries like Uzbekistan, which do not have direct access to the world's oceans, the most convenient and cheap transport is the railway.

However, now only 5% of products in the domestic market and 45% in exports are transported by railway. That is, the railway company cannot compete with the transportation of goods by car.
