⚡️ A historic turn in the world of intelligence: MI6 is now headed by a woman

 

For the first time in the history of the UK's foreign intelligence service, MI6 (Secret Intelligence Service), a woman has been appointed to a leading position. The government announced on June 15 that Blaise Metreveli has been appointed as the head of MI6. She will replace the current head, Richard Moore, from October 1 and will become the 18th head of MI6.

Blaise Metreveli, 47, who joined the secret intelligence service in 1999, is currently the head of MI6's technology and innovation department and has previously held senior positions both within the service and at the counter-intelligence agency MI5, which is responsible for internal security.
