Frenchman Nabil An-Nasri traveled 5000 km to Saudi Arabia by bicycle to perform the holy Hajj pilgrimage. The arduous journey of the 41-year-old world star began on April 22 from Paris. For nearly two months, he passed through 11 countries, including Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Greece, Jordan, and Turkey. Originally from Morocco, Nabil An-Nasri is known in France as a civil society activist, writer and analyst. He deals with various social problems, in particular, education, environmental protection and the fight against discrimination. "After a 57-day journey, the pleasure of praying in the Rasulullah Mosque is special! Of course, this cannot be compared to flying for seven hours on a plane to pray," said a French Muslim in a video he made at the Masjid an-Nabawi in Munawwara, Madinai. An-Nasri explained the reason why he went on a bicycle trip first of all with the intention of restoring the tradition of the distant pilgrimage route left in the past. In addition, he said that he wants to draw the attention of the international community to global warming by traveling in an environmentally friendly boat. According to Al-Nasri, global warming has become the most serious problem facing humanity today. "Planet Earth is our common home. It is our duty to preserve it for future generations. I consider it a vital task to explain to the Muslim society how important it is to protect nature and existence. After all, we still do not fully understand the nature and consequences of global warming," says Jahongashta Muslim. Currently, Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is being performed in the Hijaz region of Saudi Arabia. In 2019, 2.5 million Muslims from different countries of Kurrai Arz were lucky enough to fulfill this obligation. After the introduction of strict quarantine restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of pilgrims has decreased to an unprecedented level. After the situation got a little better, in 2022, 926 thousand people managed to perform Hajj. This year, more than two million Muslims gathered for the holy pilgrimage. The Saudi government announced that security measures have been taken and the necessary conditions have been created in the holy city of Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa valleys, where Hajj is performed.
