Streptococcus group A "predator virus" is spreading in Japan. It can end a person's life within 48 hours. By June 2 of this year, the number of people infected with the virus reached 977, which exceeded last year's record (941). This type of streptococcus usually causes a sore and swollen throat called angina in children. Joint pain and swelling, high fever, low blood pressure, as well as breathing problems, tissue necrosis and organ system failure are the main symptoms of the disease.
