As part of the visit, the country's delegation took part in the meeting of parliament speakers on cooperation between the Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea in Seoul.
The purpose of this platform, established in the "5+1" format of inter-parliamentary cooperation, is to give new momentum and content to the further strengthening of multifaceted dialogue between the countries.
The main session of the event was devoted to the topic "Prospects and priorities of regional cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea: vigorous action for the next 30 years."
A number of proposals were also put forward during the international dialogue. In particular, these include issues such as deepening interparliamentary cooperation in the field of technology, innovation and green economy, attracting Korean investments in the field of alternative energy and "green" hydrogen production, and introducing new technologies.
In the afternoon, the meeting continued its work, divided into two sessions. In the session on "Economic cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea" today, in the conditions of increasing contradictions and disputes, negative trends in the world economy, unstable international trade and economic relations, multilateral and mutual attention was paid to issues of beneficial cooperation, including efforts to combine efforts through inter-parliamentary dialogue.
At the session, the Chairman of the Senate expressed his opinion, that the further development of trade-economic and investment cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea can be the main driver of regional cooperation, and for the development of practical cooperation on strengthening trade-economic and investment relations, all noted the importance of parliamentary support in creating the necessary conditions.
In the session on "Cooperation in the field of digital transformation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea", the attention of the participants was focused on the issues of economic development and the success of digitization processes in strengthening the position of Central Asia on the world scale, and the wide introduction of artificial intelligence in various sectors of the economy.
During the session, the Chairman of the Senate, with the support of the Republic of Korea, announced the establishment of the Central Asian Center for the Study and Development of Artificial Intelligence, which is aimed at conducting research and development work, training qualified personnel, and developing popular IT products for the needs of all countries in the region. put forward proposals to establish cooperation with leading Korean universities in the field of organization and digitization on the training of qualified personnel in this field.
The proposal to hold the next meeting of inter-parliamentary cooperation "Central Asia - Republic of Korea" in Ashgabat in 2024 was supported at the meeting.
At the end of the event, the joint declaration of the first meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of the Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea was adopted.
