The possibility of opening a branch of the French Alliance in Samarkand was discussed. This was reported by the press service of the Senate.
This issue was discussed during the visit of the Uzbek delegation led by Tanzila Norboyeva to France in a meeting with A. Decot, the secretary general of the country's MFA.
During the conversation, the parties noted that active political dialogue has been established between France and Uzbekistan in recent years, and bilateral relations have acquired a completely new meaning.
"In this regard, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a branch of the French Alliance in Samarkand, which will serve to increase the potential of Uzbek youth. As mentioned, French experts have developed educational programs for improving the teaching of the French language in Uzbekistan," the report said.
In early 2023, at the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan with the Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, Aurelia Bouchez, there was an exchange of views on the opening of the French alliance in Samarkand.
At the meeting held in 2021, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that "it is necessary to further strengthen cooperation with non-state educational institutions and foreign partners such as the British Council, Goethe Institute, French Alliance, KOIKA, JAYKA, and the Confucius Institute in teaching foreign languages."
