A ban on extravagance at weddings and ceremonies will be introduced.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers’ Resolution No. 589 of September 16, 2025, the country will launch the “Rational Consumption” program. This initiative aims to prevent excessive waste, ensure the supply of sufficient and quality food, and promote a culture of frugality.

The years 2026–2030 are declared the “Period of Urgent Food Security.” During this time, the priority will be to supply food products in line with people’s needs and to use resources wisely.
Under the resolution, weddings, family celebrations, and ceremonies will be held in strict accordance with regulations. In particular:
• Family events may host up to 200 guests, while “osh” ceremonies may have up to 250 attendees.
• Double weddings may invite up to 250 people, and the related “osh” feast up to 300 guests.
• Shows and customs contrary to national traditions and etiquette (such as “kuyov navkari,” “sep yoydi,” “quda chaqirdi,” etc.) are prohibited.
• Extravagant practices at funerals and mourning ceremonies (such as “yetti,” “qirq,” “yil oshi,” “money distribution,” etc.) are banned.
