A 3-year-old girl’s hand got caught in a meat grinder

In Zarafshan, due to the mother’s lack of attention, a little girl almost lost her hand. The 3-year-old was standing next to her mother, who was preparing food, and accidentally put her hand into the opening of the meat grinder. The mother immediately stopped the machine, but the fingers were already stuck inside. Paramedics arrived within 12 minutes and transported the child to the hospital. Initially, the chances of saving the hand were estimated at less than 50%, but after more than two hours of surgery, the fingers were successfully removed from the device. The girl is now in stable condition. Recovery is expected to take 2–3 months, while full restoration of hand function may take up to 6 months.

Experts advise parents to use dangerous equipment out of children’s sight, unplug devices when not in use, and avoid old, unprotected machinery.
