€9 million superyacht sinks just four days after being handed over to new owner
The Angiola II superyacht, worth more than €9 million, sank off the coast of Italy’s Sardinia island just four days after being handed over to its new owner.
The 30-meter yacht suddenly caught fire near Porto Cervo. Shortly afterward, the heavily damaged vessel sank beneath the water.
All 14 people who were on board at the time of the incident were rescued. The yacht is expected to be recovered from the water and brought ashore.
The Angiola II was built in 2020 and had changed owners several times since then. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the yacht’s sinking.
