In 2023, more than 303 thousand applicants who took part in entrance exams are graduates of secondary schools. Of these, 95,497 successfully passed the tests and became students.
According to the information provided by the agency for assessment of knowledge and skills under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and innovation, more than 303 thousand applicants who took part in the entrance exams in 2023 are graduates of secondary schools for the current academic year. This was announced by the Minister of preschool and school education Hilola Umarova.

95,497 of these graduates successfully passed the current tests and became students.

"In fact, the graduates admitted to higher education institutions are even more, on average 10-15 percent (44 thousand) of graduates every year are becoming students of non-governmental and foreign higher education institutions. Therefore, some graduates entered private and foreign institutions and did not take part in the tests," he wrote.

It is noted that the number of graduates entering higher education institutions is increasing from year to year. In particular, the number of graduates entering higher education institutions increased by 14,019 compared to 2021, and by 9,628 compared to 2022 (81,478 graduates enrolled in 2021, 85,869 in 2022).

The increase in the number of state grant seats allocated for higher education admission quota of graduates is also increasing from year to year. In the current year, 34,930 quotas are allocated for the state grant, while 77% (26,884 graduates) of it are graduates of the school.

This was 3.5 percent more than the previous year, 3,537 (23,347 school graduates were on the grant in 2022).

"Graduates' cognitive efficiency can also be seen to have improved over the previous year. The average score in the current year is 77.1, which increased by almost 3 points compared to 2021, and by 1 point compared to 2022 (74.2 points in 2021, 76.3 points in 2022)," Umarova wrote.

He noted that 68% of applicants who scored a positive result, accumulating above 75% of the maximum score, fell on graduates. 20873 of the applicants who showed high results this year are also graduates of the school.

"The number of applicants who perform below the minimum passing score (56.7 points) is also decreasing from year to year. While 415,159 applicants failed to score even 56.7 points in the current year, among them, the school's graduation rate is 11.7 percent. This figure has decreased by almost 4 thousand people compared to 2022," Umarova wrote.
