Of the 10,118 schools in Uzbekistan, 6,807 or 67.3 percent are heated with coal. Dilfuza Sobirova, an employee of the Ministry of Pre-school and School Education, mentions this in her information about the work being done to prepare educational institutions for the autumn-winter season. Also, 3,284 schools (32.5 percent) are heated with natural gas, 23 (0.2 percent) with liquid fuel, and 4 with electricity. It is noted that 202.9 thousand tons of coal were delivered to schools for the autumn-winter season this year (100% of the planned supply was fulfilled). 58,100 tons of coal fuel products have been collected for pre-school educational organizations, and at the same time, the work in this regard has been fully completed. According to Dilfuza Sobirova, the local heating systems of 4,491 schools and kindergartens had to be switched to coal fuel this year by Presidential Decree No. 57 of February 16, 2023. Until now, local governments have switched the heating systems of 926 schools and 1,161 preschool educational organizations from gas to coal.
