61 trees were cut down in order to repair the road in Surkhandarya

Nevertheless, in the evening, 61 valuable trees (2 maples, 54 virgin firs), 6 less valuable trees (2 poplars, 4 willows) were cut down by unknown persons. The operational team of the Department of Ecology of the Surkhandarya region reached the place of the incident on the same day and drew up an administrative report. According to experts' calculations, as a result of this illegal action, 293 million 700 thousand soums of damage was caused to the flora. A criminal case has been opened by the prosecutor's office of Surkhandarya region and investigations are underway.
