5th grader dies after being electrocuted by transformer in Namangan

A 13-year-old boy died after being electrocuted in the Davlatabad district of Namangan region. The incident occurred on the evening of May 5 in front of a high-voltage transformer.

It was reported that the 5th grader was electrocuted when he climbed onto the transformer to eat cherries. As a result, he received serious injuries and died in hospital. The boy's relatives say that the area around the transformer did not meet safety requirements. They say that the area was not fenced, some wires were exposed, and the transformer was not locked.

The Davlatabad district prosecutor's office is currently conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident. An internal investigation has also been ordered into the activities of the electricity supply company's employees.
