506,000 People Employed in Permanent Jobs in Uzbekistan in Six Months

In Uzbekistan, 506,000 people were employed in permanent jobs during the first six months of 2026. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov at a parliamentary meeting.

According to him, during this period, the incomes of 2.6 million people increased, while the employment of 546,000 citizens working informally was legalized. The launch of 104,000 micro-projects in mahallas provided employment for 246,000 people.

According to the report, the unemployment rate decreased from 4.8% to 4.5%, while the poverty rate fell to 4.5%. Around 37,800 new small business entities were also established.

It was also reported that Uzbekistan’s economy grew by 8.5% in the first half of 2026.
