42 energy facilities launched in Uzbekistan

On December 5 of this year, at a ceremonial event dedicated to the commissioning of new energy capacities and infrastructure facilities, as well as the start of construction of upcoming projects, Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched 42 new energy and infrastructure facilities worth nearly 11 billion dollars and initiated the construction of 21 additional projects.

The goal of these projects is to fully meet Uzbekistan’s annual electricity consumption, reduce natural gas usage by almost 7 billion cubic meters, and prevent 11 million tons of harmful emissions from entering the atmosphere.

Among the projects are 10 energy storage systems with a total capacity of 1,245 megawatts. These systems will allow an additional 1.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to be supplied to the grid during peak demand periods.
