As of 12:00, at checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Kazakhstan section of the state border, an accumulation of cargo vehicles heading to Kyrgyzstan was recorded.
According to the Border Organization of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, the accumulation of vehicles is observed:
- Checkpoint "Ak-Tilek-road" - 379;
- Chaldbar - at the checkpoint of Highway - 73;
- Ken-Bulun - road checkpoint - 89;
- Chon-Kapka - road checkpoint - 73.
The ministry noted that checkpoints on the Kyrgyz side operate on a daily basis.
Recall that the director of the Research Institute of Irrigation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Economics Ulan Chortombaev, said on his Facebook page that the Kazakh side does not allow vehicles to leave the Kyrgyz Republic due to the cessation of water supply traffic. He wanted the Cossack side to understand this, since there is almost no water in the Kirov reservoir in Kyrgyzstan.
But Almazbek Sokeyev, director of the Water Resources Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, told a press conference in Bishkek on August 23 that the Kazakh side has no claims against Kyrgyzstan after the water supply from Kirov was cut off. He added that this was evident from the duo's phone calls.
