30 million euros stolen from a bank in Germany using a drill

In the German city of Gelsenkirchen, unknown individuals used a drill to drill a bank safe and steal approximately 30 million euros and valuables. The incident occurred at the Sparkasse bank. The thieves opened more than 3,000 personal safes containing money, gold and jewelry. Police described the crime as “very professionally carried out.” The robbery was discovered on the morning of December 29 after the alarm was triggered. According to preliminary information, the criminals entered the bank through a nearby parking lot and escaped that way. Video surveillance recorded a black Audi RS6 leaving the garage early in the morning.
No one has been arrested yet. The bank has asked affected customers to contact it and a special hotline has been set up.
