The US Embassy brought 25 American English language teachers to the country to begin 10-month training and professional development programs. The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent brought 25 American English language teachers to the country this week to begin a 10-month training and professional development program in Uzbekistan to teach directly to students and teachers together with local teachers. This was reported by the Press Service of the embassy.
This group consists of 17 American English teachers who teach together with local English teachers in schools from 10th grade to university level, as well as English for speakers of other languages, which increases the capacity to teach English at the university level. includes 8 experienced teachers (EL Fellows) specializing in language teaching (TESOL).
15 of the American teachers are part of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) program of the US State Department, and 2 of them are "English language teachers" of the US Embassy in Tashkent in order to continue teaching English in Uzbekistan. ETA graduates who have participated in the program before. These teachers have a master's degree in TESOL or a related field and an average of 10 years of teaching experience.
25 American teachers come from different parts of the United States, from California to Florida, and they support English language teaching and learning in 11 regions of Uzbekistan. They also serve as cultural ambassadors for the United States by promoting mutual understanding between the United States and Uzbekistan and by showcasing current best practices in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). .
