Heavy rains lasting several days in Nepal have triggered floods and landslides. Twenty-four people have died, and 14 remain missing as a result of these natural disasters. Landslides and overflowing rivers have destroyed homes, roads, and bridges. More than ten villages in mountainous areas—some of which served as base camps for mountaineers—were completely destroyed. Over 2,000 people have been evacuated from the affected areas.
