During his visit to the Andijan region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a ceremony to launch 206 investment projects and break ground on others, with a combined value of $9.4 billion. Of these, 98 projects worth $2.05 billion were launched, while construction began on 108 projects valued at $7.35 billion.
The projects are being implemented across all 16 cities and districts of the region in sectors such as energy, construction, textiles, mechanical engineering, education, tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare. They include a cotton-textile cluster, an electricity storage and distribution system, electric buses, solar panels, micro-hydropower equipment, modern educational and medical centers, logistics and tourism complexes, and facilities for generating electricity from waste processing.
The projects are being carried out in cooperation with local investors and companies from China, Turkey, South Korea, the USA, Russia, Belarus, Germany, India, the UAE, and Tajikistan. The new projects are expected to create over 45,000 jobs, generate 60.6 trillion soums worth of annual production, and create export opportunities valued at $533 million. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President pressed a symbolic button to launch 98 projects and initiate the construction of 108 facilities.
