2025 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Officially Lit for the Holiday Season
One of New York City’s most beloved traditions — the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree — has officially marked the beginning of the 2025 holiday season. Thousands of visitors gathered at the plaza, while millions more watched the magical moment via live broadcast.
This year’s tree was selected from an environmentally supervised region in North America. Standing approximately 25–27 meters tall and weighing several tons, it dazzles visitors with its massive Swarovski star on top and hundreds of thousands of LED lights illuminating the plaza.
The lighting ceremony featured live performances by popular artists, choir presentations, and traditional holiday music. The event once again highlighted New York City’s festive spirit, hospitality, and long-standing holiday customs.
