20,000 housing units to be commissioned in New Tashkent by year-end

Plans are in place to commission 20,000 housing units in New Tashkent by the end of this year. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this during a meeting with investors and entrepreneurs on October 12.

The new housing will provide accommodation for at least 70,000 people. The President emphasized the necessity of establishing schools, medical facilities, and retail and sports venues alongside the housing.

A 55,000-seat stadium meeting FIFA standards is also under construction in the city. It will serve as one of the main venues for the U-20 World Cup next year.

Additionally, plans are underway to relocate ministries and government agencies to New Tashkent; nine buildings are currently being constructed to accommodate 2,600 employees.
