160 new buses will be brought to Syrdarya region

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, during a meeting with voters from Syrdarya, discussed plans for the development of the transport sector in the region in the next seven years.

In particular, in order to increase public transport traffic in the Syrdarya region, 160 new buses will be brought, 60 stops will be built on the basis of modern projects.

Through these, more than 600,000 people from Syrdarya will be far away.

"We will update the electropoises purchased 35 years ago on the’ Tashkent – Khovos' route. For this, for $ 20 million, we will bring modern electropoises,” the candidate said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also said that in 2023, another 1.5 thousand megawatt thermal power plant will be put into operation in the Boyovut District and Shirin city by Saudi Arabian company Acwa power, with an investment of $ 1 billion 100 million.

“In addition, in the next two years, a consortium of companies from France, Japan and Qatar will invest $ 1 billion 100 million, and an additional 1.5 thousand MW of modern thermal power will be built,” the candidate said.
