16-year-old student stabs preventive inspector in Kokand

A 16-year-old student attacked a preventive inspector with a knife in the city of Kokand, Fergana region. The incident occurred on February 18 in the teenager's apartment. During a quarrel with the preventive inspector, the 9th grader injured him with a kitchen knife. The inspector was hospitalized in serious condition.
A criminal case was initiated against the minor under Article 104, Part 2, Subparagraph "b" of the Criminal Code and he was detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code. This article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years. Investigations are currently underway.
