According to Uzbekistan’s Minister of Health, Asilbek Khudayarov, during the first nine months of 2025, 155 girls were married before reaching adulthood. The minister noted that these girls were between 15 and 17 years old. He warned that early and consanguineous marriages may lead to the birth of children with disabilities.

❗️ During a meeting chaired by the president on October 14, it was also reported that about 32,000 families have divorced since the beginning of 2025, and 16,000 parents are evading alimony payments.
In addition, starting from December 1, the requirement to submit the original copy of a marriage contract to a notary will be abolished — instead, it will be uploaded electronically to the “Notarius” information system.
