👶 13-year-old mother regains custody of her baby through court
A 13-year-old girl in Bangladesh has regained custody of her seven-month-old baby following a court ruling. According to reports, she married a 20-year-old man she met on Facebook when she was 11 years old, and later gave birth to their child.
The teenage mother claimed that her husband and mother-in-law took the baby away and forced her out of the house. She then filed a lawsuit seeking the return of her child.
The court ruled that the baby should be returned to the mother.
The case has once again drawn attention to the issue of child marriage, which remains illegal but still occurs in Bangladesh, as well as the need to better protect minors on social media.
