11 killed in tourist bus crash in Mexico

On May 1st of this year, 11 people were killed and 31 others were hospitalized with various injuries after a tourist bus crashed in the Mexican state of Nayarit. It was reported that the bus was heading to a vacation resort.
Officials also stated that emergency service personnel are conducting rescue operations and the highway has been closed to investigate the causes of the accident.
"The bus, coming from the state of Jalisco, veered off the highway and overturned near the town of Amatlán de Cañas. We are investigating the causes of the incident. Rescue crews arrived at the scene promptly, and those trapped inside the bus were rescued. First aid was provided to the injured before they were transported to hospitals. We express our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident," said emergency service representatives.
