105 magnetic beads removed from stomach of two-year-old boy in Kazakhstan

On February 20, a 2-year and 3-month-old boy was brought to the Children's Emergency Medical Center in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with a complaint of swallowing a foreign object. According to his parents, the boy may have swallowed metal magnets when he went to visit about a week ago. However, it was noted that their exact number is unknown.
Initially, specialists tried to remove the objects endoscopically, but due to the dense accumulation of magnets, this was not possible. It was decided to perform a surgical operation - laparotomy and gastrotomy. During the surgical operation, 105 magnetic beads were removed from the boy's stomach. The child's condition is currently reported to be satisfactory.
