Trial on the case of taking hostages in a bank began in Astana

ASTANA, August 30 - Sputnik. In Astana, a trial has begun in a high-profile case of hostage-taking in the capital branch of one of the banks.

Already during the first hearing, the details of that day became known, according to the KTK TV channel.

The details of the incident were told by the employees of the financial organization, who were inside and served customers at the moment when the attacker broke into the building.

"I want to live! Don't kill me!" - these are the words of a girl who turned out to be a hostage on June 18.

At the first court session, its employees acted as victims in the case of an attack on a bank branch, and 30-year-old Alikhan Muradov was in the dock. He is accused of taking hostages and faces up to 12 years in prison.

Two and a half months ago, on Sunday, an unknown person broke into the bank, located in the administrative center of the capital. He was armed, as it turned out later, with a souvenir pistol and a dummy bomb, locked himself in the office with his employees and demanded that all the bank's assets be transferred to funds for disabled children, the poor and the needy. He spent three hours on this, and for non-fulfillment of his conditions he threatened to deal with the hostages. “He said, 'I have dynamite, I have a gun and a nitrogen thermite bomb.'

One of the managers said that at the time of the attack, she decided to take a break and left the common room. Already in the rest room, I heard loud noises and realized that something was wrong in the department. - At 13:52 I called 102, dialed the police. I didn’t know how many people were in the hall, maybe it was a few people, that is, some kind of terrorist attack. I thought: "What if they are walking through the rooms, and I'm calling, talking on the phone." After that I sat. She just sat in the corner behind the cabinets and sat. And I thought: "Maybe I'll just sit until the police arrive."

However, the girl failed to sit in a safe place. She recalls: Muradov knew that there were still people in the bank and, threatening one of the employees, demanded that all the others come out to him in the hall. Then he forced one of them to write down and hand over his demands to the police.

“The police have already arrived. He asked her to write down his demands. He shouted at her very strongly, aggressively. He said: “What are you stupid about?” Obscene words, and she hesitated, of course. completely went out, but just left it at the entrance to law enforcement agencies," the victim said.

Later it became known that the attacker is 30 years old, he comes from the Zhambyl region. The defendant pleaded guilty and stated that he was not under the influence of drugs that day.

However, according to the materials submitted to the court, in 2013 Muradov was registered in the drug dispensary. On the day of the attack, according to investigators, the defendant tried to poison himself with drugs, but he did not succeed. And then the attacker decided to seize the bank in the hope that he would die from police bullets.

The defendant's further actions minute by minute since the beginning of his attack will be considered at the second meeting, which will be held next week.
