Tokayev noted the high dynamics of the Kazakh-Korean trade and investment cooperation
The President noted that a strong institutional network of bilateral cooperation has been established between the countries.President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Jin, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit, the press service of Akorda reports. The Head of State noted the high dynamics of the Kazakh-Korean trade, investment and technological cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties. As you know, Korea is very important to us as one of the key partners in Asia. We highly appreciate all the achievements in our bilateral cooperation. In addition, I am very glad that the volume of bilateral trade has already exceeded $ 6 billion. But at the same time, we have many opportunities that need to be used in the future. Therefore, I think this visit is a good opportunity for a mutual exchange of views on topical international issues. Kazakhstan and Korea share common or similar positions on major international issues. I believe that we have a lot in common, which brings us closer both in the international arena and in a bilateral format," the President of Kazakhstan stressed.The Head of State cited as examples of successful cooperation the production of KIA cars, the operation of the Hyundai plant, the production of ferroalloys and steel, the Smart Farm project. The President also noted that a strong institutional network of bilateral cooperation has been established between the countries, the key elements of which are the Kazakh-Korean Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as the Business Council. In this context, the President called for the full use of the potential of these structures. In turn, the South Korean diplomat conveyed the words of greetings from the country's President Yun Seok-yeon and confirmed his readiness to further deepen partnership with Kazakhstan both on a bilateral and regional basis. Our bilateral partnership has been developing rapidly since we established diplomatic relations in 1992. It has been developing especially dynamically since the conclusion of the strategic partnership agreement in 2009. In this regard, we will continue to move forward to strengthen our relations. We are developing a close partnership not only in the traditional sphere, but also in new industries such as digital technologies, healthcare, energy and environmental protection. Active diplomacy between the two countries is the driving force behind the development of bilateral relations," Park Jin said. The interlocutors also discussed topical issues of the global and regional agenda, cooperation through international structures. Earlier, the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Commissioner for Children's Rights.
