Tokayev instructed the new governor of East Kazakhstan region to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the CHP in the region

The President stated the need for the systematic development of settlements in the border areas. The Head of State received Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Ermek Kosherbayev, reports Akorda. During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined a number of urgent tasks for the new akim of the East Kazakhstan region. In particular, the importance of further improving the quality of life and well-being of citizens, the development of the region's economy, as well as ensuring stable growth in the fields of industry, agriculture, small and medium-sized businesses. The Head of State, noting the decision to restore the Katon-Karagai and Markakol districts, stated the need for systematic development of settlements in the border territories. In conclusion, the President gave instructions to the mayor on the modernization of municipal infrastructure facilities, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of thermal power plants, and preparing for the heating season. Recall that since November last year, accidents have been constantly occurring at the Ridder thermal power plant. The largest of them happened in November. Then more than 22 thousand subscribers were left without heat. An emergency mode was introduced in the city. At the end of January this year, the Ridder emergency station was acquired by investors with extensive experience in the thermal power industry. However, already in early February, new equipment failed at the CHP. On March 17, two boilers failed at the Ridder thermal power plant. Residents of the city were promised to make a recalculation for poor-quality provision of services. Five days later, on March 22, an accident occurred at the CHP again. After it, the Governor of East Kazakhstan Region, Danial Akhmetov, said that the new owners of the station had committed technological violations, had not carried out engineering control, which led to another critical situation. Negotiations on the transfer of the company to state ownership have also reached an impasse. The owner offered to take the thermal power plant along with all the debts, but this is impossible, the authorities assured. On March 23, a coal dust explosion occurred at the thermal power plant. The blast wave destroyed the enclosing structures with an area of about 80 square meters. According to the results of the inspection, the Prosecutor General's Office found more than 240 violations of the law at the CHP. In April, it became cold again in Ridder's houses due to another accident at the CHP.
