Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstanis on Constitution Day

ASTANA, Aug 30 - Sputnik. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on the Constitution Day, the press service of Akorda reports.

"The Basic Law is a solid pillar of our statehood, determining the social and political structure, enduring values and the strategic vector of the country's development. The Constitution, updated as a result of a national referendum, has become a vivid symbol of the consolidation of our nation. It acts as a reliable foundation for ongoing large-scale reforms aimed at democratizing the political system, ensuring the rule of law, the progressive improvement of the well-being of the people," the congratulation says.

One of these institutional reforms was the creation of the Constitutional Court, which significantly strengthened the role of the fundamental law as a guarantor of the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.

"To build a Just Kazakhstan, a state of equal opportunities for all, it is necessary that constitutional principles not only be strictly observed, but also be an integral part of public consciousness. I am deeply convinced that a responsible citizen - "Adal Azamat" - is a person who fully shares and embodies into life the ideals of our Constitution," the congratulation says.

Today, August 30, Kazakhstanis celebrate the Constitution Day - one of the main public holidays.

In 2023, the country celebrates 28 years since the adoption of the main law, which determines its place in the world community and sets the course for development.
