To the east: the government of Kazakhstan discussed new markets for domestic products
ASTANA, September 9 - Sputnik. Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin discussed with government agencies and national companies how Kazakhstan will intensify cooperation with countries where new markets are being opened for the republic, the government press service reports.
The main emphasis, the message states, is on cooperation with China. The Deputy Prime Minister’s recent trip to the Celestial Empire opens up broad prospects for the creation of high-tech industries in Kazakhstan, the press service noted.
“Heads of companies, the world's largest leaders in the fields of metal processing, e-commerce, construction, production of new materials and technologies, and the agro-industrial complex, have shown open interest in strengthening cooperation,” the government added, speaking about the results of Zhumangarin’s visit.
The introduction of best practices and expansion of partnerships are the most effective ways to fulfill the task set by the president to accelerate the development of the manufacturing sector and create high value-added clusters, the government emphasized.
“China is our closest eastern neighbor and one of the most attractive and accessible markets for our products,” stated Zhumangarin.
He recalled that during the visit, meetings were held with seven large companies. The Kazakhstan delegation at the round table in Shenzhen established contacts with representatives of associations for the production of seeds, phosphate fertilizers, pesticides, transport, logistics, and certification companies
“They all expressed their readiness to cooperate and exchange experience, technologies, and scientific developments. Now, on our part, we need to work out an interaction algorithm for each company: from the direction of cooperation to the localization of the project in Kazakhstan,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He instructed to create a working group from among representatives of Qaztrade, Kazakh Invest and NCE Atameken to develop the algorithm and create a road map of projects with all interested ministries and departments.
In addition, the meeting reviewed an action plan to bring trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran to $3 billion.
“The draft document contains 30 activities focused on the development of infrastructure projects in the agro-industrial complex, transport and logistics, oil and gas,” the government noted.
The document, the press service believes, is especially relevant in light of the expected signing of the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran by the end of 2023.
