The work of the Turkmen National Commission for UNESCO can be coordinated from Almaty

Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova held a meeting with the Director of the Cluster Bureau of the organization in Almaty Amir Pirich, with whom issues of coordinating the activities of the Turkmen National Commission from Kazakhstan were discussed.
At the meeting, initiated by the Turkmen side, the topic of joining the National Commission to the UNESCO Cluster Office in Kazakhstan was raised. It is worth noting that previously the activities of the commission were coordinated by a regional office in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
“During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation in the implementation of projects that make a significant contribution to the development of education, science, culture, and the preservation of historical and architectural monuments and cultural values were also discussed,” the National Commission said in a statement.
The parties also stated that in recent years the partnership between Turkmenistan and UNESCO has reached a qualitatively new level, largely thanks to the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Amir Pirich emphasized that the office in Almaty is ready to continue to provide support in the implementation of new projects in the field of education, science and culture. The interlocutors also agreed on the relevance of contacts within the corridors of the Great Silk Road.
The Turkmen delegation led by Chinar Rustemova is in Paris as part of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO.
