The delegation of Turkmenistan will hold a number of meetings on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World forum

A delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakiev arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to participate in the XIV International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World" - KazanForum 2023. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The purpose of the large-scale event is to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. From the Turkmen side, members of the Government, heads and representatives of a number of ministries and sectoral departments, other structures, as well as the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation take part in the work of the forum.
The program of the forum includes more than a dozen sessions, including a session dedicated to the development of the international transport corridor "North-South", in which the participation of Turkmenistan is also planned, as an important link in transportation in this direction.
Turkmenistan has declared its intention to formally join the Agreement on the International North-South Transport Corridor and is currently working on procedures related to this process.
A number of official meetings are planned within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan. On the sidelines of the forum, the International Fair of the Halal Industry - "Russia Halal Expo" will be held, at which products from Turkmenistan will be presented.
The rayis of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov will take part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Among the high-ranking guests are the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov, Marat Khusnullin, Alexei Overchuk, as well as the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill. More than 17 heads of subjects of the Russian Federation will also take part in the forum.
7,210 people from 85 countries have registered to participate in the International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum".
