The Balkan shipyard will build two dry cargo ships together with Korean specialists

Shipbuilding and ship repair plant "Balkan" and the Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd. (KSIT) signed a contract for the joint construction of two dry cargo vessels with a lifting capacity of 6,100 tons.
The document was agreed upon as a result of negotiations with the Korean Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA) and KSIT, which is a member of the association. Two dry cargo ships will be built in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed in order to further develop the country's national merchant fleet.
As part of the contract, highly qualified Korean engineers will train specialists from the Balkan plant in Korean shipbuilding technologies. A modern quality management system will also be introduced at the plant. Design work will be carried out taking into account the high standards of safety and environmental protection adopted in shipbuilding.
Cooperation with Korean specialists will contribute to the improvement of the maritime infrastructure of Turkmenistan, as well as the development of trade and transport connections of the country.
