Tajikistan proposes 17 sites to the UNESCO World Heritage List
The event brought together representatives of diplomatic departments, statesmen, workers of culture and art, as well as the head of the UNESCO office in Almaty
Tajikistan has proposed to UNESCO a number of objects for inclusion in the preliminary list of historical and cultural heritage.
The list includes 17 titles in total.
This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic Sirojiddin Muhriddin at a solemn event at the National Museum of the country.
The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of cooperation between Tajikistan and UNESCO.
Representatives of diplomatic departments, statesmen, workers of culture and art, as well as the head of the UNESCO office in Almaty, Amir Pirich, gathered for the action.
"At the moment, 17 objects of the material heritage of Tajikistan are included in the preliminary list of UNESCO," Sirojiddin Mukhriddin specified.
In honor of the event, an exhibition of folk crafts of the republic was held at the National Museum, and a festive dastarkhan was served for the guests. Well-known artists of the country presented theatrical scenes from the works of the classics of Tajik-Persian literature.
Earlier it was reported that Tajikistan expressed a desire to add to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

Thus, in the fall of 2023, historical and cultural monuments of the Zarafshan-Karakum corridor of the Great Silk Road may be included in the list and become part of the world cultural heritage.
