"Tajikfilm" in 2023 will prepare and shoot 10 films

The state institution "Tajikfilm" plans to prepare and shoot 2023 new films in 10. This was noted today during a press conference of the State Institution "Tajikfilm".

According to the responsible persons, among these films there are 2 - full-length, 2 - short, 4 - documentary and 2 animated.

"Tajikfilm" plans this year, in cooperation with Uzbek filmmakers, to begin the creation and shooting of a joint feature film "Jami and Navoi". Also, together with the "Studio of Documentary Films of St. Petersburg" to develop and prepare an animated film "Snow Leopard", and with the Unitary Enterprise "National Film Studio "Belarusfilm" to prepare and develop a feature film "Nurek".

At the press conference, it was reported that in 2022, with the support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, the "Program for the Development of Cinema of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027" and the Action Plan for 2023-2025 were adopted, which defines and ensures the further development of national cinema.

The "Cinema Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2027" covers such important issues of the sphere as training young specialists outside the country, providing the film industry with modern methods and technologies of film production, producing highly qualified national films, attracting highly qualified specialists, restoring the Tajik National Cinema Fund, equipping cinemas with new modern technology, strengthening the material and economic bases and attraction of viewers to the cinema, as well as the establishment of cooperation with other countries for the production of joint films, the presentation of the achievements of the field of Tajik cinema, the holding of international and regional festivals, the presentation of Tajik cinema on the world stage.
