Rahmon recalled the extraction of one of the rarest minerals in the Pamirs

During a visit to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the President of Tajikistan spoke in favor of expanding the extraction and processing of minerals

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed to study the issue of mining and processing of minerals, including lithium, in the Darvaz region.

This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

The leader of the country announced this task to representatives of the industry, as well as to the leadership of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region during a meeting with residents of the region,

"The potential of the region in the direction of mining and processing of minerals, including lithium, should be studied and used for the industrial production of finished metal products," Rahmon said.

Earlier, the head of the Main Department of Geology, Ilkhom Oymuhammadzoda, said that Tajik specialists are working not only to find deposits of lithium, but also other rare earth minerals.

According to him, preliminary exploration of lithium-rich areas in the southern part of the Pamirs, where there are a lot of C2 category resources, is currently underway.
