Kazakhstan's economic growth in January - May amounted to 4.5%
There is a positive trend in all major industries, with construction, trade, as well as information and communication showing the greatest growth. This year, the economy of Kazakhstan has grown by 4.5% compared to January-May last year, Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov said at a government meeting on Tuesday. According to the head of the MNE, growth in the real sector was 3.6%, and in the service sector - 4.9%. There is a positive trend in all major industries, with construction, trade, as well as information and communication showing the greatest growth. The growth rate of investments in fixed assets amounted to 17.2%," the minister said. In the regional context, the best indicators are observed in Turkestan, Mangystau, Kyzylorda and Kostanay regions. According to preliminary results, in January-April 2023, foreign trade turnover increased by 11.1% and amounted to 44.4 billion US dollars. Exports amounted to 25.5 billion US dollars. At the same time, exports of processed goods increased by 7.5% to 8 billion US dollars. Imports of goods amounted to 18.9 billion US dollars. Overall, the positive trade balance amounted to 6.6 billion US dollars. In January-May of this year, more than 5.5 million square meters of housing were commissioned, which is 15.4% more than in the corresponding period last year. The highest rates of housing commissioning are observed in Shymkent, Almaty and Astana, as well as in the Ulytau region. In agriculture, the volume of gross output increased by 3.5%. Positive production growth in the industry was recorded in 16 regions. Mangystau, East Kazakhstan, Akmola and Pavlodar regions showed the greatest growth," Kuantyrov reported. According to all indicators, positive growth is observed in 8 regions - in the regions of Abai and Ulytau, as well as Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan regions and in the city of Almaty, the head of the Ministry of National Economy summed up. Also at the meeting, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerulan Zhamaubayev reported on the receipt of more than 8 trillion tenge to the state budget and, thus, the implementation of the plan by 103%. According to the Ministry of Finance, during the reporting period, the republican budget received 5.4 trillion tenge in revenue. The revenues of local budgets were executed by 128.9% and amounted to 2.6 trillion tenge. The plan was exceeded by 590 billion tenge. State budget expenditures were executed by 98.5%, republican - by 98.8%, local budgets - by 98.9%," Zhamaubayev reported. The speaker also informed that 902 audit events were conducted in 5 months of 2023. The audit covered about 380 billion tenge. According to the results of the inspections, financial violations in the amount of about 55 billion tenge were established, of which violations in the amount of 43 billion tenge were eliminated by the objects of state audit by restoring the supply of goods, rendering services and performing works, reimbursement to the budget and accounting.
