Heavy rains damaged parts of Tajikistan

Over the past day, as a result of heavy rains that caused mudflows, damage was caused to some areas of Tajikistan. On the evening of April 2, as a result of precipitation, a mud mass covered the territory of the 3rd microdistrict, Zuhal Street, new plots, a local road and several basements of Khujand's residential buildings in Sughd region. This was reported to NIAT Khovar in the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

According to the source, torrential rains caused mudflows on the territory of the rural jamoat of Yova Bobojon of the Gafurov district. As a result, two kilometers of a local road were damaged, one residential building, two cowsheds and part of the agricultural land of an apricot orchard were partially flooded.

Mudflows were also recorded on the territory of the rural jamoats of Dekhmoy and Gulkhan Jabbor of rasulovsky district.

"Also on the territory of the rural jamoat Chorkuh of the city of Isfara, a mud-stone mass covered about 300 meters of a local road and the Dushanbe-Chanak highway. Rescuers of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense in the Sughd region at 23:40 in the 3rd district of Khujand rescued two stuck Gazelles from the mud-stone mass, cleaned part of the Dushanbe-Chanak highway from dirt. As a result of the disaster, there are no victims," the Committee said.

District emergency commissions are involved in carrying out other work to eliminate the consequences and determine the damage on the ground.
