From August 1, Tajikistan will begin the admission of students to the first grade

From August 1, the Republic of Tajikistan will begin accepting first-graders for the 2023-2024 academic year, the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan told the NIAT "Khovar" correspondent.

"Today, all educational institutions of the country continue to prepare for the new academic year at a high level. According to the Program for the preparation of 7-year-old children for education in the 1st grade (for one month), approved by the Decision of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, when registering students, education begins on August 1. During this period, an introductory cycle is held with first-grade students," the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan said in a statement.

In accordance with the Model Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the country, the following documents are required in a general education institution for the admission of students to the first grade: a student's personal questionnaire, two 3x4 photos, a parental application for admission, a child's birth certificate, a medical document, two copies of parents' passports, a marriage certificate and a certificate of residence.

As reported in an interview with the correspondent of NIAT "Khovar" in the Main Department of Education of the city of Dushanbe, in all educational institutions of the capital, children are admitted to the first grade free of charge.

Admission of children to groups with the Tajik and Russian language of instruction of educational institutions (educational institutions of a new form and private, without taking into account the amount of the contract) is free of charge on the basis of Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, Articles 6 and 16 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Education", paragraphs 7 and 38 of the Model Regulations on General Education Institutions of General Secondary Education.

In the event that the responsible persons of the education sector of the city of Dushanbe require funds for the child's admission to the first grade, parents must demand a receipt for funds from the responsible persons or submit their applications and complaints to the hotline of the Main Department of Education of the city: 2213092.

It should be noted that this year children born before December 31, 2016 will go to the first grade. If the child was born on January 1, 2017, he will not be admitted to the first grade.

Recall that the 2022-2023 academic year, by order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the completion of the 2022-2023 academic year, certification of transfer from class to class and graduation in general education institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan" for the 1st grade of general education institutions ended on May 25, for grades 2-11 (12) of general education institutions, regardless of the organizational and legal form, on June 1, 2023.
